Netflix recently delighted fans with a playful promotional video featuring the stars of Lust Stories 2. Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma, Kajol, and Mrunal Thakur showcased their enthusiasm for their roles and even shared some creative ideas for the upcoming anthology film.
The video, posted on Instagram by Netflix, teased viewers with intriguing questions. Is Vijay Varma the epitome of lust? Will Kajol find herself in a sarson ka khet (a mustard field) reminiscent of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge? And can we expect another unforgettable orgasm scene this time? These burning questions and more will be answered in Lust Stories 2, exclusively on Netflix!
In the two-minute-long video, Tamannaah expressed her concern about a scene that involved more than just kissing. She playfully suggested alternative expressions of passion, like intense hand-holding or warm hugs. Vijay Varma, who is rumored to be dating Tamannaah, appeared alongside her in the video. They both blushed and excitedly agreed to be part of the project after learning they would be cast opposite each other.
Vijay confidently looked into the camera and jokingly asked if Vicky Kaushal was too busy to be approached for the role, relishing his self-proclaimed status as the “face of lust” after portraying negative characters.
Kajol, known for her iconic character Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, requested a romantic shot in a sarson ka khet, reminiscent of her beloved film. She also advised the makers to name her character Anjali, adding a touch of nostalgia. Neena Gupta, a veteran actress also featured in the video, expressed shock at playing the role of a grandmother, but playfully noted, “Grannies can have lust too.”
Mrunal Thakur, who often meets a tragic end in her films, was relieved to learn that her character in Lust Stories 2 wouldn’t face a similar fate. Tillotama Shome humorously expressed her desire to play the lead role in all the shorts and even offered to portray Vijay’s character. When her request was denied, she comically questioned why she couldn’t play a male role. Amruta Subhash couldn’t contain her tears of joy after reading the script, while Angad Bedi broke into bhangra, a traditional Punjabi dance, upon being offered a role.
The highly anticipated second installment of Netflix’s anthology film will be directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sensharma, R. Balki, and Sujoy Ghosh. Lust Stories 2 is expected to explore an even broader range of themes, delving into issues related to pleasure and societal hypocrisies.
